SLEEP, ENERGY & METABOLISM

Sleep Problems, Fatigue & Brain Fog: Symptoms & Causes

Sleep quality can affect attention, energy, mood, metabolism, and weight-management efforts. Screening helps determine when a sleep disorder or chronic sleep disruption may be contributing.

Telehealth currently available in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, New Mexico, and Texas.

Sleep can affect both attention and metabolic health

Insufficient or disrupted sleep can contribute to daytime fatigue, difficulty focusing, slower thinking, irritability, memory complaints, and reduced performance.

Poor-quality sleep can also affect metabolism and may make weight-management efforts more difficult. This does not mean that every case of weight resistance is caused by sleep or cortisol. Screening is intended to identify clinically meaningful sleep problems that deserve treatment or further testing.

What may be screened

  • Typical sleep schedule and total sleep opportunity
  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
  • Snoring, witnessed breathing pauses, morning headaches, or excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Shift-work or irregular schedule effects
  • Medication, caffeine, alcohol, and substance factors
  • Restless legs or unusual nighttime behaviors
  • Mood, attention, appetite, weight, and cardiometabolic concerns

What happens after screening

Some sleep concerns can be addressed through behavioral changes, schedule adjustments, medication review, or treatment of contributing conditions. Other symptoms may require formal sleep testing or referral to a sleep-medicine professional.

Mindfuse Health does not use vague “cortisol modulation” as a substitute for evaluation. When symptoms raise concern for obstructive sleep apnea or another sleep disorder, appropriate testing or specialty referral may be recommended.
